As an Electronic System Engineer, you lead in the development of innovative prototypes for multidisciplinary applications.

What you will do

As an Electronic System Engineer, you will contribute to the Research & Development of Electronic Systems for Healthcare, Automotive, and 3D Sensing, by developing prototype applications and building cutting-edge technology demonstrators. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of electronic systems. You will work closely together with the Photonic Researchers in the development and testing of cutting-edge Photonic Systems. Besides, you will also interact with customers and suppliers to align on planning, progress, and transfer of results.

Your responsibilities as an Electronic System Engineer will include:

  • Developing Electronic System Design, Hardware testing and troubleshooting, including board bring-up, design of test tooling and adaptation of existing platforms to new specifications.
  • Leading the hardware testing and characterization of prototypes.
  • Developing multi-layer PCB designs, documentation of the design, development and testing in accordance with relevant EMC standards.
  • Working in close co-operation with multi-disciplinary project teams consisting of electrical, mechanical, software, and biomedical engineers, to define the specifications, design, implement, verify and validate hardware systems.
  • You share knowledge with the team, help and guide them in the area of electronic systems.

Who you are

  • You hold a master's degree in Electrical engineering or similar field.
  • 5+ years of experience in high-speed / RF Electronic system design is a must, and preferably in the field of Photonics.
  • Experience in designing, integrating, and testing components such as low noise, high dynamic range optical/RF frontends.
  • Experience with transmission lines, signal integrity and EMC.
  • Hands on experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium), DFT techniques.
  • Experience with modelling and simulation of RF Systems.
  • Hands on experience using Electronic Lab Equipment like spectrum analyzer, oscilloscopes, VNA.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, patching and board bring-up is a must.
  • You have a multidisciplinary mindset and like to work with colleagues in different teams, you see changes as an opportunity to learn and grow.
  • You are an agile team player, actively helping other team members.
  • Fond of technical challenges and are inspired by them.
  • Hands-on attitude. Taking responsibility for the process from specification to implementation, testing and debugging, including communication and alignment with different stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
